The Effect of Infilitration Temperature on the Thermal Conductivity of SiC/Al2014 Composite Produced by Pressured Infilitration Method

چکیده

In this study, metal matrices composite samples has been produced by saturating the Al2014 alloy into the 105μm particle sized SiC powder helping with pressured infiltratiıon technique. The SiC powder has been filled into the tube with 70 mm in height and has been fixed from two ends. The infilitration has been performed in 3 minutes, under N2 argon atmosphere and 700kPa constant pressure and in 7000C, 7500C, 8000C temperature respectively. For all infilitration temperatures, complete infilitration has been obtained for SiC powders. A homogeneous micro structures have been obtained after SEM observations. The thermal conductivities has been defined not only by theorotically but also by experimentally. Morover, densities and pore amount of samples have been defined by experimentally. Furthermore, the effects of the pore amounts on the thermal conductivity of the composite have been investigated in this study. As a consequences, it has been obtained that increasing of infilitration temperature decreased the amount of pore in composite and this decreasing caused increasing in the value of thermal conductivity.
